Insurance and health care
Students are responsible for their own insurance. Please check if your own insurance covers health insurance, liabilities, and accidents that may occur during your stay in the Netherlands. Van Hall Larenstein does not accept any responsibility for such risks as loss of property, accidents, illnesses etc. We will assist all students to acquire insurance cover for these risks. Insurance fees for students up to 41 years of age amount to approximately 500 euro per year. Insurance is compulsory for all students.
European (EEA) students
Most EEA students can arrange an EEA-Healthcard with their own private insurance company. You can also arrange your insurance, on your own, with AON Consultancy
Non-European students
If you are a non-EU citizen you will be compulsory insured for medical costs and liability. In this case Van Hall Larenstein staff will arrange insurance for you; however you will be the person that the insurance rests upon. This means that you are liable and thus responsible for your own actions, not Van Hall Larenstein. Van Hall Larenstein will arrange insurance on your behalf with AON Consultancy.
Please remember that Van Hall Larenstein can only arrange insurance for you after admission into one of the international programmes.
